Independent, The (London) - Flights grounded after crews strike

ITALY Thousands of air travellers were left stranded yesterday after a strike by air traffic controllers and Alitalia flight attendants forced the cancellation of hundreds of flights. Among the stranded were 7,000 AC Milan fans whose flights to Athens for today’s Champions League final against Liverpool were scrapped.

Alitalia flight crews are demanding that the company adhere to rules regulating the number of hours rest crews get between flights.
